Is it worth running a high impact project to achieve a high impact goal even though you will not publish in a while? To me the answer is YES. But funding agencies do not necessarily agree with this. How do we intend to make real scientific discoveries in a short-term system?

I've overbooked myself big time for the last 2 weeks and the upcoming months. But it is paying off so far! Send vitamins and coffee my way (and pet pictures) #AcademicTwitter #Science #Research

Is anyone left in this app? Last week and this morning have been really exciting days in terms of discovery and career progression and I found myself missing what twitter was for me during 2019-2022. Is #AcademicTwitter still a thing?

Facebook market is like a different dimension, I swear. This lady calling out all academia and telling me to get a real job. Feeling personally attacked here π

I had the opportunity to think & work w/ incredible people for the last 4 yrs on how to make an impact on academic representation & culture. Our conclusions & insights are in this article. Please consider how you can contribute to making academia & STEM better for everyone π
Out now in @CellCellPress! https://t.co/alueorl2UL Historically marginalized student representation drastically drops from undergrad to grad school. Are underrepresented students unqualified? Or are grad school admissions unnecessarily confusing, costly, & gatekeeping? 1/π§΅

Honestly, twitter is simply so hard to use now. Promoted tweets are not clearly marked on the top and keep on interfering. All replies are no shown unless you click on "show more replies", and prioritizes instead showing you "More tweets". It's impossible to read a conversation!

In conclusion it looks like we have a bimodal distribution of people that would work more or less the same as on a normal day and people that feel that their current days doesn't have enough hours! (I think I would be in group 2)

This week I got a gigantic next generation sequencing dataset. Today it took me about 30 minutes just to unzip all the 2000+ files. Sharpening my skills at bash and giving some hard work to the arc supercomputer at Leeds, this is gonna be fun!

#Academictwitter, I am trying to see something here. If the day had 48 h instead of 24, how many hours would you use for academic-related work? #Academia #PhDvoice #AcademicChatter
