I’d argue this site is a fascinating case study that B2C users don’t necessarily need four 9s uptime. I probably experience about 30-60 min per mo of degraded functionality, but it doesn’t materially impact my experience. They’ve saved 85% on labor w/ maybe a 5% dip in quality.
I agree it's crazy they laid off 85% of people and the company still functioned, but you can't tell me this product is working better since Elon took over it is 100X worse

This type of public policy is why I’m bullish on the Southeastern US plus Texas on a 50 year time scale
My district is $18 trillion, nearly 1/3 of US stock market in a 50 mile radius. We have 5 companies with a market cap over a trillion dollar companies. If I can stand up for a billionaire tax, this is not a hard position for 434 other members or 100 Senators. Those saying that

If you're an e/acc kind of person, then ubiquitous GLP-1 access might be the most pro- US dominance thing imaginable. Looks at the country's productivity with widespread obesity and imagine what can be done with a country full of healthy weight workers.

ServiceNow is somehow an incredible business with a CEO that looks like he should be selling you some memecoin back in 2020

In what world has enterprise ever been early adopters of new technology where you’re beta testing every new bug and vulnerability? This is executive theater for what was inevitable.
CEO expresses strong dissatisfaction with Microsoft's copilot Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has assumed a hands-on product management role to urgently accelerate Copilot improvements, driven by frustration with the AI's technical flaws and eroding market share against competitors

Last night’s game and this current one have made it abundantly clear that Ohio State, Oregon, Indiana and Georgia are the only actually viable national champions

It’s really unfortunate ND played these teams in September. They’re 2+ scores better than both of them today.

Engineers that have only ever worked in big tech are the funniest people. They just have the most naive takes about how software engineering works in 95% of businesses.

Had a conversation with a company last week that still wants admin-only EMs. Funny how jarring it was to see a company still operating in 2020 mode.

IDEs are quickly becoming a convoluted mess as AI tooling providers seem to think adding 17 panes to their tool is fantastic UX

I'm getting wrapped summaries from every dev and project management tool this year. That gimmick has officially jumped the shark.

If I'm ever named CEO of American Express, my first order of business is stopping all mail offers for AMEX Gold cards to existing AMEX Platinum cardholders. Boom! Instant $50M add to EBITDA.

Nothing stings quite like being told you're "too junior" for a leadership role when you know the true answer is "you look too young"

Your competitors are lifelong SWEs with no formal AI/ML experience and know absolutely nothing of competent LLMOps. You're not too late for that AI startup.
