Its been memorable year, with so many amazing birding experiences! My final count is 237! My favourite is definitely the self-found bluetail! A couple of my favourite experiences are: Nightjars with Andy S Parakeets in London Puffins at Skomer Red necked phalarope at Spurn

My grandad said 'that's a funny looking Robin' moments later I was looking at this extraordinary red-flanked bluetail! Seen today at nethy Bridge Scotland!

My definition of a perfect day: early morning at loch garten were coal tits fed out of my hand and crested tits landing just above my head! Then onto nethy Bridge where we had a self found red flanked bluetail, the second recorded for the Highlands! Then to a cafe for pancakes!

First day in Scotland was a huge success! 3 year ticks already! Hooded crow, long tailed duck and this stunning snow goose with the greylag and pink footed geese!
