With areas of Moderate Heat Risk in the forecast the next several days, ensure that your loved ones who are in vulnerable populations are safe, as they can be more sensitive to increasing temperatures. #CAwx Heat Risk: https://t.co/DmUPnHbhKR Safety: https://t.co/8qWZRpI0ti

Shepppard Family Farms had 450 rice acres enrolled in the Fish Food program this past winter. Proud to be a part of the fix for salmon recovery.
Flooded rice fields are teeming with fish food! This short clip featuring @CalTrout scientist Jacob Montgomery the difference in nutrients available to fish traveling through a managed floodplain compared to the river. @UCDavisWater

Great clip illustrating the environmental benefits that accompany rice farming in the Sacramento valley.
Ricelands are part of innovative efforts to support CA salmon populations. By mimicking river environments salmon need to development, rice fields are transformed into nurseries for young fish. Learn about the benefits rice fields provide wildlife👇. https://t.co/yc06vrg5cC

About to park the last tractor for rice planting 2023. It has been a sprint to get it all in this spring.

Don’t have all the horses back in the yard yet for rice planting 2023 but good to see the tillage portion come to it’s close. 3 more days for pre plant fertilizer and they will all be parked. Extremely smooth year despite the late start.

Ten years of orchard mowing and spraying had really taken a toll on the exterior of this great tractor. DuPont overhaul complete and she’s good for many more seasons of heavy use.

It’s time to drain the last few inches of irrigation water off my first planted 2020 rice. This field will be harvested in about 25 days. Down stream of my field wait 1000’s of acres of butte sink wetlands that will pick up my drain water and apply it to their lands for waterfowl
