This was simply excellent! Literary pleasures on every page, in every sentence perhaps. Margaret Atwood can be funny and tragic and deep and historical and easy-language, all at the same time. Comparisons never seen, so authentic.

This is what American cities looked like a century ago. Everything you see here was demolished. Why? This is what happened... (thread) 🧵

If you missed it (you probably live under a rock) but on Saturday Athletic Club became Copa del Rey champions, lifting their first major trophy in over 40 years! So I guess it's time to make a 🧵on why Copa del Rey is and to some point always been Athletic Club's tournament

This novel is so full of jokes, emotions and brilliant narration. If there are one-shot films, this is the first one-shot book I have read. And have enjoyed much.

I have long suspected that illnesses can be caused by mental states. This book is not new but I hadnt heard of it before listening to its audioversion. It is very convincing in displaying the psychosomatic nature of disorders like muscular pain, allergy or skin problems.

This book is great in providing a comprehensive account of the recent history of Palestine by an engaged observer. Highly recommended!

I was absent in high school when we dealt w our first compulsory reading, Antigona. This is, I had learnt, a modern adaptation and I loved it. Esp. the relation of Minister Karamat Lone and his son. Didnt see the end coming. Sometimes it is good to miss out school.

This was unexpected. I have never been interested in the Rockefellers or in cannibalism (in colonialism I have been, I admit). At times sensational but the tale got me. Well researched and experienced adventure.

A very interesting and, indeed, intimately personal novel. One of the more political story lines takes us to the International Criminal Court though. Reading the book was so smooth that it must have been very hard to write. Recommended.

When you look at the "program" of the event 🤔 When you realize who's the MEP hosting it 🙄 When you see the time of the day when this is happening 🫠 Wine for breakfast? Why-ne not? 🫣

This is probably the most surprising/interesting/intriguing and important non-fiction book I have ever read (well, listened to). Pure pleasure, highly recommended.

Not her best book but Tana French’s standard is so high that I enjoyed The Searcher very very much.
