Really fascinating study on people's ability to detect political deepfakes! .Would be really interesting to see a reflection on the ethics approval process and what preemptive steps can be taken to ensure misinformaiton is not spread further in experiments using deepfakes.
๐จ New paper in @NatureComms ๐จ. We created deepfakes of the current & former @POTUS giving speeches (w/ voices from voice actors & @elevenlabsio) to study what drives how well people can tell fake speeches from real ones. Time to update the "Seeing is Believing" narrative.๐.
