That's because tonally, the movie suits Batman much better. I did not like how they continually made Superman into this stressy depressy character.

The theatrical release was a hot mess. Director's Cut actually makes it a decent film with character depth and motivations. Jesse Eisenberg was still a bad Luthor and the way they introduced Doomsday was meh. Honestly the Batman/Bruce scenes are the highlight of it all.

I think playing into the absolute ridiculousness of the characters will make or break this movie. At the very least it's going to be a fun time and not take itself too seriously.
