What a good thread! Media and others just repeating misdirection and misinformation rather than calling them out as false. It really is shameful.

It's not that the polls are "wrong". It's that telling us that Canadians have been misinformed and misled as never before in history, without examining the misinformation, or who's misleading and why, or setting the record straight is just simply more misleading propaganda.

...So when I see these things happening here in Canada in exactly the same way, I will speak up, because there aren't enough voices doing so in our media — because I personally, have to try and counteract the deliberately false notions aired by our media...

...misinformation. Every single panel that examines standing in the polls without examining the misinformation that creates belief in false accusations is a bit of propaganda encouraging those false accusations. Every time Smith or Ford or Moe or Higgs or Poilievre makes...

Actual media criticism comes from the Beaverton, rather than the outlets who are supposed to be devoted to it, which says volumes about the state of media in this country.

You would think in an age of unlimited access to historical knowledge that the rich could understand it won’t end well for them or anyone else?

As a competition lawyer I find it particularly galling that politicians blame a revenue neutral carbon price for high costs rather than actually addressing the fact that we have monopolies or near monopolies in so many key sectors from grocery to banking to telecoms to airlines.

This, on the weekend Canada marks National Truth and Reconciliation Day marking mistreatment of and crimes against indigenous people. You are too smart not to have done this deliberately. Who are you trying to impress?

We have to draw the line somewhere. Because If Justin Trudeau is expected to apologize for every embarrassing moment in Canada whether it’s his fault or not, it means he’d have to apologize for Pierre Poilievre every single day.

More than anything else, the loss of local papers and the integration of those empty spaces into the right wing PostMedia, has caused the current political environment of division and feelings over facts. Trudeau didn’t divide us. But maybe PostMedia did.
