This is often where the abuse starts as the caller believes we haven’t listened.

Any dispatchers WORST fear on shift is that emergency alarm that sounds when a crews life is in danger. During my recent weeks I’ve experienced this for the first time... It sends your heart racing for sure! It is NOT okay to assault our Ambulance staff. You WILL be prosecuted.

I genuinely received 1st class treatment from the doctor in A&E. He even wheeled me to CT to get seen before handover to avoid delays. Blown away at his care.

I struggle around winter and had no idea I was suffering from SADS syndrome. (Winter sadness)
On shifts I don’t see day light often so I feel down for long periods. My lamp has been a game changer for me!

I’ll admit that I’ve not been my best at times. My anxiety got the better of me sometimes. I refuse to let it win and I still got out of bed every day.
Remember, anxiety days are not permanent and you CAN beat them. Be kind to yourself.

Back on OT taking 999 calls tonight!! Just taken a call for someone in cardiac arrest. So reassuring one of our off duty staff members was dispatched via

and on scene within 3 minutes! Truly amazing app!! Thankfully not as given but just wow!
