@ItalianComments My wife was refused parmesan on her seafood risotto. Waiter said no point blank and walked away. Rude.

In Rome, my American boss tried to order tortellini pasta with carbonara sauce... I told him not to. He tried. He was told "no".

@OperaBrendaSLP @ItalianComments An English colleague ordered cheese w her pasta alle vongole at La Cambusa in Bologna. She noticed the waiter’s face, said, I’m sorry; he said, if you want. Later the whole staff marched out carrying her pasta, behind it, a 🚫 sign + behind that, freshly grated parmigiano.

I was in Italy with a group, some ordered pasta for dinner, they ended up returning it and had a huge argument because the pasta "wasn't cooked"

@pavsmith @ItalianComments I still remember a waiter/maitre in Frascati (Rome) over 30 years ago, telling us of some Germans who had ordered Carbonara + some emmenthal cubes and green salad on a side plate, and then mixed everything together. They were (deservedly) thrown out.

@jaunehyuck @ItalianComments We treat food for what it is (an art for the mind and soul), other countries treat food as bare fuel for the body (sigh)
