Inside Teatro La Fenice Built in 1792 and named The Phoenix, it burned down three times but always rose from the ashes. It hosted premieres by Rossini, Bellini, and Verdi in the 19th century, becoming an icon of Italian theatre and opera history.

Studying in Europe makes sense, yet many #Irish secondary schools and career guidance teachers offer little 3rd level advice, other than applying to and getting sucked into the increasingly ridiculous #CAO system. Applying early is the important part… #education #LeavingCert

This is a pretty depressing read. I grew up in a house with books and newspapers (both of which helped me find my voice). I loved the local library and I still use one (and take the children). Words matter. Reading matters.

No. Whoever said this lied to you. We're in a bad place because so many people expect to lead lives devoid of any friction or discomfort. Relationships, art, writing, study - they can be difficult. They will exhaust you. But they're worth it.

my therapist said this to me, and it hit me like a brick “if it drains you, it’s not for you. love, friendships, jobs, anything meant for you will nourish you, not exhaust you. 1/2

Intellectual loneliness isn’t about wanting ‘deep talks.’ It’s about realising how few people can tolerate complexity. It’s noticing how quickly people rush to have an answer not to understand, but to feel right. It’s watching people form entire worldviews off headlines, vibes,

Deeply distasteful to see that the role of President of Ireland is now viewed as a personal branding exercise by opportunists, seeking to build a personal profile to benefit themselves and/or their businesses. We are no longer a serious country. #Ireland #PresidentIrl #Aras25

Irresponsible nonsense from @davidmcw to suggest that garden sheds are an easy solution to the #HousingCrisis caused by Govt policy failures. Who aspires to ‘live’ in a claustrophobic, temporary garden structure, likely to be a fire hazard, in their mother’s back garden? *Sighs*

One of Dublin’s finest stair halls can be found at Newman House, 86 St. Stephen’s Green, home to @MoLI_Museum. Most likely designed by Robert West c.1765, it features late Rococo decoration unusually incorporated in a groin vault, and a Portland and black stone chequered floor.

Irish media organisations should refrain from purposely selecting unflattering photographs of female political candidates they do not favour. It amounts to overt bias. I haven’t noticed the same tactics being employed against male candidates contesting elections… #aras25
