Thanks to the man who saw me standing holding Joey on a crowded train and insisted on giving up his seat for me. He had his own kid asleep in a stroller, and knew very little English but pointed to Joey and said “baby is baby”

Since Wed 11th Dec I have been trying to get an answer from @British_Airways about changing a flight due to a bereavement. I still don’t have a an answer after over 5 hrs of calls, but also have never experienced such bad customer service which has caused emotional distress.

i'm a long time airbnb guest and host, but these days hotels are competitively priced, much more reliable, and less risky. so this is my warning to others, and a last ditch attempt to be heard on what was unequivocally the worst experience i've ever had with @Airbnb

my dialogue with my 'ambassador' via the airbnb messenger service has now halted, though the complaint remains unresolved. i am potentially out over £1k for this stay if @Airbnb don't find in my favour, plus paying for the new hotel i'm in now. i am so worried i've lost sleep.

whatever 'proof' the host has claimed to have (or created) the fact is i know the truth because i experienced it. i was shivering, standing in my coat, face and hands cold. the assistant and i even laughed together about my teeth chattering. and there were the other issues too.

my cab driver to the new hotel even said that lots of his rides from this venue complain to him about the standard of the rooms. i also am confident the host provides things like electric mattress covers and extra blankets because he knows full well the rooms are too cold.

...that the radiators were never on, and the room was always cold. i regret not asking them to say this on camera, but i had already disturbed their evening, and i shouldn't have to involve other guests to prove i'm not crazy/lying.

there was no thermostat in the room (one of the problems) and no photos were taken while i was there - not that these should show temperature anyway! i even resorted to asking the guests in the room next to mine if their room was cold too - they said they had stayed here often...

by the time i left for another hotel i had spent 3 hours in a room that was so cold it felt like i was outside, trying to find solutions. airbnb was understanding at every step, but now they are claiming that the host has provided photo 'proof' that the room wasn't cold(!)

my original offer was to come back the next day to see if the room had improved enough for me to keep the 2 week booking, but after this behaviour from the host i didn't feel comfortable continuing with the booking, especially in case there were more issues in the future.

when i updated the host on this he became rude and insulting, including messages like "what's wrong with you", and reverting back to complete denial of any problems and claiming he had addressed my concerns immediately. i have timestamped proof that this is untrue.
