This month, TLA hosted the TALL Texans Institute, a program for Texas library leaders to build leadership skills. Participants learned from professionals, exchanged ideas, and connected with peers. Thank you to our program leaders and participants for a great weekend of growth!

ABC fun with Pre-K3 in the library! Ss used sentence stems to share the first letter of their name with a partner, write their letter, and engage in our brand new ABC centers. 📔✏️ @IrvingLibraries @iInstructIrving

Our 4th and 5th graders learned about Tony Sarg, and his invention of the famous balloons that float through NYC during the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, through the book BALLOONS OVER BROADWAY! Then, they created their own "balloons" for a miniature, Ozobot parade.

A dynamic lesson with The Humble Pie! 🥧📚Students practiced inferencing, figurative language, & vocabulary in English & Spanish through think-pair-share discussions on humility w/ @EstherRivas_3. They wrapped up with book ✅out, reviews, art, & Interland for digital citizenship!

This week @BburgCougars third graders reviewed e book resource, Sora, and made ornaments for our @IrvingLibraries tree for the @IrvingArts Center! After reading, we chose elements that symbolized the story to add to our ornaments! @IrvingISD

Ms. Orozco and I hosted book club for our parent members today! We talked about the our 1st section, through pg 63 Hanmegsiko Slang! So we made some Hanmegsiko Book Charms today! Great discussion of "They Call her Fregona" by David Bowles #KORALE view full image for the charms :)
