Our 4th and 5th graders learned about Tony Sarg, and his invention of the famous balloons that float through NYC during the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, through the book BALLOONS OVER BROADWAY! Then, they created their own "balloons" for a miniature, Ozobot parade.

Torchlighters shine brightly with kindness, and books help all of us grow in empathy. We focused on the power of words this six weeks through books like Taste Your Words by Bonnie Clark and Stolen Words by Melanie Florence. Reading also inspired us to code and wear hats. :)

Kindergarteners love to code! After listening to THE GREAT GRACIE CHASE by Cynthia Rylant, the students coded Sphero Indi Cars to have a race between the little dog in the story and the people chasing her. Ask your student who won! 😀
