I have a very active imagination... So I draw it. AuDHD. Autoimmune.

I’m live tweeting my son’s experience at Doncaster Royal infirmary because this is an all too common public health story that happens more than people admit. It’s hard hearing nurses from three different departments get mad because they’ve spent 5 hours bleeping one consultant

NHS hospital: I noticed the clock on the wall showed the wrong time. A nurse told me they knew, but they wouldn’t report it because replacing the battery through the NHS would cost £70. A £2 battery... £70. How? Why? That's when I began to dig further. 🧵

@cliftonaduncan Modern libraries have been morphed into community rec centers and day care facilities, but no one wants to talk about that.

His second op went really well though and can’t fault the team at all. Clear discharge info and already booked in two follow ups. Good work staff. 💕

He’s had his second op and was out by 1pm. Nurses put in for his take home antibiotics right way. It’s now 7:40pm and they’re nowhere to be seen and the nurses are just as frustrated and unable to do anything as we are. It’s a joke now. 30 mins and we have to stay another night.

Literally a visualisation of my communication anxiety 😂
"I will focus on the final output. It will be perfect. It will be glorious. It will be the best explanation of sampling bias ever written. Or at least a decent one. Okay, standard explanation is fine. Don't overhype it. Just answer the question."

@adrienn80260307 @PippaM288130 @wesstreeting I always wondered how people leading the country could do so without knowledge and experience of their given roles. Is there no competence exam? That seems like it would be a useful thing.

@Imperfecting_It We walk a fine line. Too ‘competent’ to be autistic versus ‘not competent enough’ to be a mother. Sounds like you’re doing really well given the incredibly stressful circumstances. Sending best wishes through the ether to you & your son.

Please read this painfully relatable account or NHS care. 💔
@Imperfecting_It You are not. Nor are you imagining it . Hope things start to go better. https://t.co/qcrjAefle4

@Imperfecting_It Complain to the right people though. Anything subcontracted will mean less pay and worse working conditions for the staff with same expectations from public,

Ok He’s had his IV reinserted and he’s in until at least Wednesday. At that point it’s likely they’ll reopen, drain, clean and reseal the wound to help with scarring. He’s not impressed but he’s still managed to smile 😃 I’ve told him I’m so proud of how well he’s taking it all.

Update: I’m hoping we didn’t relax too soon. The swelling has gone down and the oozing briefly slowed again, but the wound isn’t healing and the tissue around it is darkening. His cannula is blocked so he’s got numbing cream all over. The worst part is they keep…

Saying “maybe you can go home today/tomorrow” and it keeps changing and that’s stopping him relaxing. I’ve asked them not to do that’s but 😔
