Hot take: I don’t care how much of a failure the LBSCR E2 was. I still love the damn thing. Not because its the basis of Thomas the Tank engine but because the sucker was so damn lucky that the class lasted from 1912 to the sixties. I aspire to have that bizarre luck.

Im glad she’s finally getting the respect she deserves. For those who don’t know; Long Beach is restoring the ship to its 1947 condition, repainting the exterior, getting historically accurate furniture, replacing the fluorescent lights with LED, and repairing the davits.

So heres what i found out. They built some boilers using the tech they want to implement on these locomotives and they’re apparently smokeless locomotives that use some new heating method that makes it as safe as a refrigerator cooling system. Its also narrow gauge.
