The @Canaries waited 13 years to host a game on the Fourth of July again and for this:. -Rain storms scatter their big crowd and cancel their fireworks show after the game. -Said storms also halt their comeback from down 8-1, stopping the game in 8th. Game called, Birds lose 8-6

Will it be enough for seismic impact? Looking at more similar FBS programs (San Jose St, Fresno, please don’t say Sacramento is as nice as San Diego), & probably not. Maybe these were factors, maybe not. But to think Sac State “proved itself” in a year to leagues/NCAA?

Last, yes I’m sure it will revitalize interest in Sacramento (though their attendance isn’t bad as is). But a move like this isn’t made for just that. Goal is to improve out of state enrollment via increased visibility, especially as much as student fees are being relied on.

And yes they��ll play plenty of big time teams in big time games. There’s another word for them-Bodybag games. They’ll make a lot of money that will certainly help pay bills. But win or compete in them (or get them to come back to Sacramento)? We’ll see.

Yes, TV money now is much better than it was in the 90s. But even for what the PAC-12 is getting it’s a big step back. MWC will take a big hit. CUSA or any other G6? Same deal. And now you have to pay athletes & 300K back pay for 10 years along with other expenses to go up.

But key to look at reasons why Pacific failed. Are the big money donors you need really there? The biggest collective/donor fund announced, Sac-12, is contingent on them getting into one conference. Is that dependable if PAC-12 doesn’t happen? If they’re not, who is?.

Yes Stockton isnt Sacramento however that’s not how TV Market dynamics work (eg-how Colorado & Colorado State claim Denver while not being in it). Nor does being in a large market guarantee success (EG-Rice in Houston). And yes, UOP=private, CSUS=Public. Other differences….

THREAD 🧵-Something lost to sands of times that might be worth remembering (especially if lawsuit happens)-the Top 20 TV Market might not be the bargaining chip Sacramento State thinks it is because the market DID have FBS football before…. The University of Pacific (1969-95)
"I’m told Sacramento State 'does not have traction' by a well-placed Pac-12 source.". Sac State says it meets the benchmarks to be FBS. But the 2 conferences within its footprint that needed to add members are not interested. Sac State says it still plans to play FBS football in.

Without a doubt think he'll be most remembered for "Reservoir Dogs" and a certain scene (🎶Stuck in the middle with you🎶). For me I'll always remember how much my late mother loved him as Jimmy Lennox in "Thelma & Louise". Underrated and terrific actor. #RestInPeace.

This right here is a big reason I really don't want the #Chiefs to ever move out of Arrowhead. Look at everything after 3. It's all new and all pretty bland. Heck it's going to get even more bland as the designs basically look identical. There's two stadiums left w/history.

I'll say this about the Bobby Petrino era at Missouri State: unlike previous NFL or FBS stops I don't think he embarrassed himself with off-field conduct. What was supposed to be his best team ever completely imploding did that for him on the field in 2022. #GoJacks #GoYotes

1-This is so hilarious and college petty that I hope every word of this is true . 2-Maybe the reason we don’t get FCS teams in EA’s football game is NDSU fans would get a similar message and crash when they tried to move them up to FBS in the game?.
BREAKING:. A class action lawsuit has been filed against EA Sports and 2K. A group of Tennessee fans were given an early beta of the game, in the dynasty feature they won their Elite Eight game, but was given a message that Tennessee will never make a final four and the game
