The statement by Mutahi Kahiga is unfortunate, shameless and insensitive. Death of someone is not something to celebrate leave alone for a decorated leader like Baba. Whether now or later we are all mortal and there is nothing to celebrate there.

Wangari Maathai was the first female professor in Kenya and the first African woman to be awarded the #NobelPeacePrize. She founded the Green Belt Movement, which led to the planting of millions of trees. Today we announce the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize.

On this I agree with @NelsonHavi let JOs give reasonable bail and bond terms considering among others the prima facie evidence. Otherwise, criminal charges will be a tool for punishing dissent.
Nobody has attacked Magistrates and Judges on bail and bond. We have advised that terms be reasonable. Magistrates and Judges should know they are not immune from being charged. I have pleaded for bail and bond for Judges and Magistrates. Let them listen and stop acting stupid.

Our discussions with @ochieljd covered this issue on why social media bar-bench relationship needs special attention. And why judges can’t exist outside the current times. Online criticism will double up and judges must know how to live with it.

Step 1: We cannot stop an ongoing process at the Senate. When the Senate is done, come to us. Step 2: Oh, you have come to us now, but alas, you are no longer the deputy president , you were impeached. There cannot be a vacancy there. I'm struggling to get this😂 @Ian_Aristotle

To the petitioners this will be a “A Pyrrhic victory”. A Pyrrhic victory occurs where a win has caused so much damage to the winning side until it feels like a defeat. The win causes long lasting damage and it defeats any benefit of such a win.

The Gen Z demonstrations have shown that even the most beautiful constitutional texts are not self-executing. Citizens roles in actualizing the constitution are more effective than institutions. Maybe this is the panacea for shortcomings of transformative constitutionalism.

Proud of Gen Z. My hope is that the moral conviction and “wokeness” will continue as they assume positions of power. Crucially, they will confront corruption directly and end the culture of tenderprenuer, deals, wealth accumulation and get rich quickly that maladies our country.

What’s superior between international law and domestic law is dependent on the forum answering the question. In Kenya, the Constitution asserts its superiority even against international law. https://t.co/xrmxDL2Q7y
