In Farchana, I saw the sheer scale of what needs to be done—gaps in infrastructure, affordability, devices, skills + safety, and financing. Gaps that led to our 2030 #ConnectivityForRefugees goal: meaningful, affordable connectivity to 20 million refugees + host community members

For people forced to flee, and for billions of people throughout the world, meaningful connectivity is not a luxury. It is a lifeline—a lifeline to family and friends, to education, to a livelihood, to better health, and a brighter future. #ConnectivityForRefugees

#WSIS was never just an event; it was a blueprint + multistakeholder process to put tech at the service of humanity. It continues to guide direction with a people-centred foundation for digital development—one that we're carrying forward into the age of AI and intelligent systems

Having stood the test of time, the #WSIS Action Lines still give us our roadmap for the AI era. And it is precisely in these areas that we must act if we want to transition responsibly from the Information Society to the Age of Intelligence.

#ITUWRC-27 will be a defining moment in making universal, meaningful connectivity a reality. The conference will make critical decisions about sharing spectrum and satellite orbit resources efficiently and equitably, on Earth and in space, in ways that benefit all of humanity.

We are helping cities harness technologies like AI responsibly, driving inclusion, sustainability, and development progress. Our shared goal is clear: to make digital transformation a bridge, not a barrier—empowering every person, in every community, everywhere.

Strengthened by new partnerships and a renewed sense of purpose, let's carry our #ITUWTDC momentum forward together as we continue striving toward a more inclusive and resilient digital future for all.
