Great meeting in Geneva with Amb @tolmajian of @Armembsuisse. UNH & Armenia will work more closely to make housing part of national planning, linking affordable, climate-resilient homes with land use & urban laws. We’ll also build on this to advance green cities ahead of #COP17.

Building collectively and incrementally is key to sustainable urban futures. Balanced densities help maximize the social and ecological function of land. Together with Mayors, we explored how cities can lead this shift toward more inclusive, resilient living.

We’re pleased to announce a USD 2.33 million partnership with @KSRelief_EN to restore safe water for 200,000+ returnees in Al-Jazirah, Sudan, supporting recovery, rebuilding essential infrastructure, and strengthening resilience in communities affected by displacement. 💧🌍

Inadequate homes fuels gender-based violence, school dropout rates, public health crises, and even urban climate emissions. Secure, inclusive housing unlocks opportunity and protects the most vulnerable. It’s not optional. It’s essential.
