At our June field day to Emo Court, Co. Laois, ITGA presented Emo Court with an Irish Whitebeam, Sorbus hibernica, grown by Joe Deering, from a small number of wild trees found outside Killeigh, Co. Offaly. Sorbus hibernica is unique to Ireland and a culturally important species

The @GreensKildare held an excellent forestry visit near Kill, Co Kildare today. Despite the damp weather, there was a great turnout, and an open discussion about the past, present, and future practices in the sector. Thank you @JoeOCarroll for organising! #LandUse #Forestry

We are asking for the public and horticulture industry to remain vigilant after we made the first sighting of the oak processionary moth tree pest in Ireland. Swift action was taken to eradicate the pest including the removal and destruction of the single nest found on the tree.
