Being shortlisted for the EFA "is a major recognition of the work of the entire team," producer Darya Bassel stated. "If the film advances to a nomination, it will open the door to even more important platforms for Ukraine. That would be the best outcome for us.”

Songs of Slow Burning Earth began filming immediately after February 24, 2022. It premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in 2024 and has since then won numerous awards at international festivals.
