I had some fears about wether WIT and the staff would be capable of maintaining the aboslutly fantastic visuals the short CM "The Girl from the Other Side" had for an entire movie, but the latest PV they showed today, complelty wiped out my fears.
It looks stellar, oh my god.
Tetsuro Araki Music video "COLORs" is visually stunning
Colors/compositing/BG are all top notch, but for me the main culprit for this absolutly gorgeous visual is none other than Mai Yoneyama Character-design.
I just love her style so much.
This incredible fighting choregraphy in RWBY episode 1 was done by Hiroto Nagata 長田 寛人
Super dynamic sequence, impressive shadings and FXs, a pleasure to watch and re-watch.
Hiromatsu Shuu シュウ 浩嵩 Fate/Grand Order Memorial movie "Beyond the Tale" is the best love letter FGO fans could have ever wished for.
Fantastic movie that will stay in the memory of many Fate fans for years.
Very nice fighting choregraphy on this Dungeon & Fighter Mobile cutscene.
I really like the breakdancing cut, its so cool.
The studio Ppuri produced it.
No staff credit for it yet unfortunatly.
Hiromatsu Shuu/Zhou Haosong and his team are the best in the world.
The Arknights 5th Chinesse anniversay special cm video they made is beyond stellar.
Made another Genga animation.
This time for one of the most iconic cut in the Kizumonogatari trilogy.
Gen'ichirou Abe is a god.
That fire is insanely good.

Animator : Gen'Ichirou Abe ( 阿部 厳一朗 )
Complete cut :
@yen_bm
I don't deny that it's a ambitious scene, SB wise, but the actual execution leave a lot to be desired imo.
The timing is pretty bad, the movements feel ultra robotic, and overall i think it feel pretty uncanny.
The "Yoku" new Eve music video by Mai Yoneyama is absolutly fantastic.
The drawings, use of colors and character animation is beyond any words I could write.
Perfection.
Korean Studio Ppuri was in charge of the production of the new CM for the game "EternalReturn" and as alway's they delivered a very cool action packed video.
The first part with the hand to hand fighting is so well done, very good dynamic fighting choregraphy.
Ryo Imamura 今村 亮 action animation is just the best.
I can't count the number of times I rewatched his fantastic Shinobu running scene from Bakemonogatari
#15
.
Kou Yoshinari (吉成 鋼) is one of the best FX animator in the industry, his 2D effects are so good that they are often confused with CGI FXs.
His fire FX in the Kizumonogatari trilogy are out of this world.
Source : Kizumonogatari I
Animator : Kou Yoshinari
Genga animation :
Today, Shun Enokido 榎戸駿 and Takahito Sakazume 坂詰嵩仁 via their circle Mayu Tokage まゆとかげ released on their Youtube channel a lot of their past production works on the FGO CMs
I couldn't resist to make a little comparaison for my favorite CM.
Stellar work.
Assault lily episode
#08
had some crazy action sequences this week, and when crazy action sequences is needed Hiroto Nagata 長田 寛人 is a master.
His full sequence is crazy good with his usual insane Fx's everywhere and impact frames but also with very very strong drawings.
The Ufotable shop DVD bonus is a gold mine.
It contain the production material for the HF3 movie.
Here we can see the incredibly talented Masayuki Kunihiro 国弘 昌之 sequence.
He's such a master when it come to understanding and animating in big 3 dimensional spaces.
Even if he didn't directed it, Shingo Yamashita 山 清悟 storyboarded the "Dragon Raja" Opening, and you can instantly recognize some of his quirks, like the camera rotation or the compositing, wich he more than prob gave instruction for on his SB.
Probably one of the most clean rotation i've ever seen. The consistency of the drawings and the volume of Arona's face is absolutly stellar.
#ブルアカTVアニメ
Nakaya Onsen 温泉 中也 directed the opening for the game Fate/Samurai Remanant and its absolutly stellar.
Incredibly soulfull character-design, amazing transitions between the different scenes, and ofc amazing 2D animation and drawings.
The BlueAca TV opening directed and storyboarded by Ikuo Geso and 10+10 had an insane amount of cuts, keeping the same vibe as the CG PVs for the actual game.
Great drawings an transitions through the whole OP, and also some great action scenes, like this one a lot.
Hiromatsu Shuu and all the crew who worked on the upcoming FGO anniversay Memorial video, i kneel.
I don't think i'm wrong saying that this will be one of the most unique and visually stunning approach any FGO promotional video ever had to this day.
Its just... spectacular.
Dungeon and fighter Game always have impressive CMs, and the last one continue that trend.
Impressed by the slowmo cut with all the raindrop, it's really good.
Some really nice dancing 2D animation in the "ヒプノシスマイク -Glory or Dust-" Music video.
The staff is composed of some regulars from Haikyuu, like kana fujishiro or Sachiko Fukuda.
I didn't know until recently that Ufotable released a Gengashuu (Key-animation book) for their Fate/Grand Order x Himuro no tenchi 7 short episode in 2017.
The integration of the 3DCGI background on this cut is so well done.
Rewatched the DVD interview bonus of "Ghost in the Shell Innocence" recently and this part with Tetsuya Nishio is so funny, love the last sentence lmao.
This particuliar scene is living rent-free in my brain since hours now, replaying it again and again.
Frostnova Acting and the FXs are both amazing.
Would love to know who's responsible for this.
Ryota Tamura 田村亮太 continue to deliver great action sequences in "Oroka na Tenshi wa Akuma to Odoru".
This running scene from today's ep 5 is great, cool action SB and drawings that convey very nicely the speed.
Fitting that Hiroto Nagata 長田 寛人 as one of the main animators of the show handled the final action scene on the final episode of RWBY!
Impressive running sequence with BG animation and great drawings.
Another name you should keep an eye on is definetly Kazuki Kawada 川田 和樹, they are also a new animator working at Saft at the moment and their work is absolutly stellar.
His sequence on today's episode is super impressive.
Was really impressed by this single cut in Chainsaw-man final episode.
The low angle, the way Denji move back and Katana-man is dodging to the right is really good, tricky cut that was done very well.
There is so much to say about those specific 2 cuts in the latest episode of Frieren.
Drawing dragons is a hard task given the very complicated design and amount of details on the beast, but what stand out so much is the way you can see the fire coming from his belly to his jaw.
Sex ~ Prologue~
A 1min30 short CM directed and Storyboarded by Sayo Yamamoto/ 山本沙代 with Naoyuki Onda/恩田 尚之 as character designer/CAD.
Produced in 2018 at MAPPA.
Yamamoto spectacular bankai attack sequence on today's episode was handled by the very talented animator Q-kawa/邱 家和.
You can instantly spot some of his usual FXs and shapes, that give so much personnaly and "rawness" to his animation.
Redline before Redline.
Hiroyuki Imaishi 今石 洋之 directed the short "Oval X Over" at IG in 2005.
His style is all over the screen, with a lot of key-poses an exagerated drawings.
He also used a lot of "flat" shadows to give this short ova a really nice visual.
Interresting to see that it seems AI was used for this Ranni's cut in the lattest FGO CM.
Strange choice since those CMs are generally known for showcasing strong "sakuga" scenes by very talented animators.
When hunting some old animated CMs I found this FFVII mobile game opening sequence produced by Madhouse.
This cut remind me of Takeshi Koike work on so many levels, it's 100% his style of animation.
And since he his credited for that Opening, no doubts I guess.
原画: 小池健
Hironori Tanaka (TNK) 田中 宏紀 showed up as KA and AD on today episode of My Happy Marriage wich was directed & Storyboarded by Takushi Koide
He handled this action scene, the drawings become instantly so strong and so much emphasis was put on the shadows and fabric.
So good.
The rawness, shape of smears with the big brush remind me quite a lot of Takeshi Maenami 前並 武志 fantastic scenes he did for Road To The Top, so I wonder if its him too here.
In any case it looks amazing.
Can't wait to see it!
As incredible as it sound, Hiroto Nagata 長田 寛人 animated this spendid sequence on the last episode despite the super short schedule.
The shading, the FX's and the amount of details are super impressive.
Amazing work!
I like how the Honkai Impact animated Short films balance the use of 3D for the characters, background, etc, and 2D for the vast majority of the FX's.
The last short film have some pretty incredibly cool sequences, some poses remind me of the Gainax/Trigger style.
Ok, First FGO Babylonia episode was pretty good, multiples good cuts and some really nice shots too.
Also, Megumi Kouno 河野恵美 is a godess,, her Ishtar cut was so good:
Alway's been a big fan of these kind of neat transitions scenes where the characters and their respective story backgrounds switch one after another.
I was really happy to see Nakaya Onsen doing it for the F/SR OP and it instantly reminded me of Mayutokage FGO Lostbelt opening 2
Interresting new cut at the end of the latest Madoka new movie PV.
Remind me a bit of Gen'ichiro Abe work.
The line work is very specific, it look great!
I can't stop rewatching the new Trailer for the upcoming Uma Musume Movie.
The amount of raw energy Ken Yamamoto/山本健 (Leaf) managed to depict on screen during the races is just beyond the roof.
You can feel the visceral emotions the Uma-Musume have during those moments.
Hironori Tanaka 田中 宏紀 first ever participation on a Ufotable project was in the third Heaven's Feel movie where he animated a ~30 seconds action sequence.
The choregraphy is incredibly good and he took some small liberties in regard to Takahiro Miura's SB.

Big fan of this particular cut with the crow.
The way the foreground elements are depicted in that smeary "ink" style give such a good sense of speed.
Also it loop perfectly. 🙏
I can believe they are actually doing a full special episode of Fate/Strange Fake directed by the legendary duo Takahito Sakazume/Shun Enokido at A1.
This explain totally their missing on the FGO CMs.
Hyyyyyyyyype!!!!!
Hiromastu Shuu directed and storyboarded this week fantastic ending of Chainsaw-Man.
He alway's find very cool directional ideas in his OP/ED and this one is no exeption.
Amazing visuals.
Takeshi Koike 小池健 Animatrix short "World Record" is a masterpiece, every single time I watch it i'm blown away by the direction, chara-design and animation.
Very impressed by these cuts in the lastest Yama Opening.
The smears going crazy, especially for the background and foreground elements are amazing and give such a good sense of speed.
Another scene that took my attention on this week episode was this one, animated by another Shaft In-house ace animator: Kazuki Kawata 川田和樹.
Dynamic action sequence with super strong drawings/poses and effects.
Credited on the opening of the new Madoka Magia record season Hiroto Nagata 長田 寛人 did another incredibly good sequence.
The details and shadings on the hairs are top tier.
Very good first episode of Tengoku Daimakyou.
It set the atmosphere really well, with lot of nice character actings sequences, and very strong drawings.
The art is also top notch, Kaneko Kami.
