Congrats on delivering the episode in time. I only joined because my friend Michibata-san asked me to do a cut or two. I also helped my boy Hirota-san on his sequence with three cuts, as the time crunch was starting. And obviously thank you to Kume-san and shigetsugu-san as well!

Blablabla, I could keep yapping, i think that's enough you get the gist. It’s all about using visual elements and composition as a metaphor for the story being told as usual, nothing new. Generally, i organise my scenes a bit like i organized a text analysis. 24/24

Then comes the reveal their presence alters the bd, and Luffy, surprised no more, reclaims the space and the screen just as he reclaims the building and terrain. Not talking to much about these part hoping the others do. Finally, the Gorosei tower over him, but he’s ready. 23/24

Then comes the pre-reveal, with the Gorosei in their now-visible forms taking their first steps onto the screen. This part is a lot of me playing with their relationship to their surroundings showing their impact on the background without fully showing them.22/24

After that, the Gorosei have fully entered they’ve visually taken the space, literally filling the screen with smoke, taking out the main light, and bringing a new atmosphere. Luffy, still surprised, focuses on sensing what’s hidden "hearing voices in the darkness" 21/24

I also opposed Luffy’s cartoonish visual and moving camera cut from mathildd with Saturn’s overly detailed close-up and constricted shot using art, composition, and camera movement to create this clear opposition between the two. 20/24

I wanted their grotesque bodies to feel like they came from somewhere else, to constrict, compress, and usurp the screen. Luffy, in his surprise, tries to visually reclaim the space, but Saturn then completely takes over the screen. 19/24

Then, as the focus shifts to Saturn, he “allows” (metaphorically, from a cinematic perspective) the others to enter. From there, the Gorosei expand, push the screen, and motivate the camera to move according to their shapes. 18/24

The scene is constructed in three parts: the summoning, the pre-reveal, and the reveal. For the first part, Its like an invasion like Luffy is being displaced as Saturn’s arm moves the focus to him. 17/24

Saturn’s arrival was about sudeness, shock, and pwr. Here I wanted ambiance, scale, and negative spaces(or lack of) on the screen. first thoughts were: “How do I make the Gorosei enter the screen as a metaphor for how they invade this space?” “How do I oppose them to Luff?”16/24
