Thanks to everyone who has joined our trials as a research participant, helped to run them at NHS and international hospitals and worked with us to develop trials and research projects, oversee them and write up the results. We couldn’t do what we do without working together.

And finally, Dr @MaggieCheang was awarded the @GRASPtweets Patient Advocate Choice Scientist Award @SABCSSanAntonio and her student @x1_xuan won a SABCS Basic Science Scholar Award.

Dr Lara Philipps, one of our @CR_UK Clinical Trial Fellows successfully defended her thesis on efficiency in clinical trial toxicity data collection in October.

@ICR_London Dr @NPortaStat was promoted to Career Faculty and awarded the title of Reader in September. Nuria’s research focuses on statistical modelling dynamic biomarkers to assess response to treatment in cancer clinical trials.

We were delighted to be recognised @ICR_London’s Above and Beyond Awards 2024 in July, for Innovation (POETIC -AI cross-divisional modelling team), Sustainability (ICR-CTSU Sustainability Working Group) and Impact (PACE trial team).

Finally in our 2024 round up, we’d like to highlight some successes of our staff and students, past and present. Our first non-clinical PhD students, @ICRHarry and @HollyTovey graduated in March.

@pintofscience We also held several patient and public involvement sessions during 2024. Our staff and patient advocates discussed the importance of working together. It helps us make sure patients’ perspective is always considered and we prioritise topics important to those affected by cancer.

PhD student Emily Alger discussed the topic of Bayesian statistics @pintofscience festival in May, at a sold out event.

We’ve also enjoyed opportunities to share the world of clinical trials beyond the usual academic settings, with stands at Cheam High School in March and the 21st Annual Schools Science Conference in April.

Dr @MaggieCheang and her PhD student @x1_xuan were @SABCSSanAntonio in Texas in December.

We were at the International Clinical Trials Methodology Conference in Edinburgh in September, with lots of poster and oral presentations.

@EmmaHall71 @alison_tree @ProstateUKProfs Dr Lara Philipps, then Clinical Research Fellow, presented about linking CHHiP prostate cancer trial data to routinely collected NHS data at ESTRO 2024 in Glasgow in May.

In March, @EmmaHall71 joined @alison_tree to discuss trials of radiotherapy for people with advanced prostate cancer @ProstateUkProfs.

Prof Christina Yap was invited to present guidance on reporting early phase dose-finding trials at #ESMOTAT24 in Paris in February.

@MRCTMRPDTP PhD student Georgiana Synesi presented her project investigating how to increase representation and diversity in trial participants @CRUKConvergence Symposium in January.

We’ve enjoyed sharing our work at conferences in the UK and abroad over the last year.
