400 job cuts announced at Cardiff University. The Vice Chancellor has said “not to change was not an option.”. Maybe the Vice Chancellor could propose a change to her £290,000 salary or give her company car back. UCU will deliver a widespread fightback against these attacks.

Check out our new paper in Research Methods in Applied Linguistics! 🥁 We introduced a fluency measure to the elicited imitation task and showed how it adds to accuracy to give a more nuanced picture of L2 proficiency. Open access:
New paper out 🎺 introducing process-based measures of automatisation in L2. The elicited imitation task is widely used as a measure of automatized L2 knowledge. However, the scoring of the task relies exclusively on product-based measures (i.e., accuracy of L2 production).
