Britain’s problem isn’t lack of money. It’s lack of leadership. We’ve had decades of short-term politics, broken promises, and drift. Time to stop managing decline and start building a future 🇬🇧.

🇬🇧 40% of pupils leaving school without basic English or Maths is a national emergency. ▪️ Worst GCSE results in years.▪️ White working-class pupils hit hardest.▪️ Decades of decline under successive govts. If Britain can’t even teach kids to read, write & add up, how can we.
67.4% pass rate for all GCSEs (worst since 2019).60.2% pass rate for English (worst since 2013).58.3% pass rate for Maths (worst since 2004). 40% failing basic reading comprehension or maths skills. That rises to 80% among white working class pupils. Genuinely disgraceful.

❌ “Stop the boats” has been shouted for years. But shouting isn’t a policy. If we’re serious about reducing crossings we need:.▪️ Fast asylum decisions! No more years of limbo.▪️ Safe legal routes so people don’t need smugglers.▪️ Real border cooperation with Europe.▪️.

The actual data presented shows immigration has fallen significantly. But if the visuals that precede it are "busy hospital", "MIGRATION CRISIS", and "full small boat" (in scary washed out colours) the opposite message has already been served, consumed and can't be dislodged. ~AA

Britain can’t solve deep problems with quick fixes. ▪️ Immigration isn’t a substitute for family policy.▪️ Debt isn’t a substitute for growth.▪️ Decline isn’t inevitable. We need leaders willing to think long-term, not just patch things up for the next election. 🇬🇧.

Inflation is back up again. Yes, it’s a warning sign but it’s also a wake-up call. Britain doesn’t have to accept slow growth and rising costs as our future. With the right long-term plan — building, investing, innovating — we can get back on track. 🇬🇧 This country has bounced.

A small bit of good news – borrowing slightly lower in July. 📉.But the real win won’t come from short-term dips. ▪️ Invest in growth.▪️ Train up skills.▪️ Build confidence back into the economy. That’s how Britain turns the corner. 🇬🇧.
Slightly better news for the UK public finances as borrowing comes in lower in July than expected at £1.1bn (albeit largely offset by borrowing being revised higher in June!). YTD picture running in line with the OBR forecast, albeit clear deterioration of total borrowing (£158bn

Surprised how far this reply travelled 👇. We need a serious conversation about energy:. Not “perfect vs useless”…. But what’s cleaner, smarter, and worth building on 🇬🇧.
@Resist_CBDC Fair point! Wind turbine blades are hard to recycle today, and that needs fixing. But let’s keep perspective:. ▪️ Around 90% of a turbine is recyclable. ▪️ New tech is emerging to reuse blades in cement, bridges, even furniture. ▪️ The real challenge is designing future blades.
