Didn’t make it into national title coverage, but I chatted with IU admin Mark Deal at Hard Rock postgame. Deal played + coached for Lee Corso at Indiana. His brother Mike was on the Hoosiers’ 1967 Rose Bowl team + his dad was on the 1945 Big Ten title squad. On Corso and IU:

Dude is delusional. It was probably a good call, but the IU defender was literally at most 1 step late, and all he did was push him, not drill him with his helmet. Beck’s issue was his head hitting the ground when he fell.
@Romancane I do not blame Beck after the illegal shot he took by the indy defender on the last drive - it was an intentional hit where he took abt 5 steps to drill Beck who had let the ball go before he was attacked helmet first in and effort to knock him out.

@Lane_Kiffin Teams were very weak this year, not taking anything away from Indiana, but we will not be seeing them in the playoffs next year. Far too many teams will be reloaded and back on top. Strength of schedule does matter, and Indiana doesn't have a tough schedule.

I’m sympathetic to FCS and G5 fans complaining about NIL and the portal. I’ll even tolerate it from most of the B12 and ACC. But the SEC complaining about money and cheating is so infuriating that I hope the B1G never concedes a damn inch to them.
And this is why the SEC mindset from media people, SEC fans, SEC admins will continue to fail and continue to fallback in the NIL + transfer portal era. From today's show. RE: 3,600 FBS players in the portal. They want to get past this era. There's no getting past it.
