This is so true. Way back when self checkouts were new, the library I worked at tried to encourage more patrons to use them, but many just weren't having it. They wanted that human interaction.
One of the things I learned when I was working as a reference librarian is that there are a lot of people who really just want to be able to talk to someone. This is an interesting example of what it means to take a holistic view of peoples’ needs in mind when designing places:.
