The recent study into Frisian showed a clear rural-urban distinction with Dutch (and traditionally City Frisian dialects) favoured in the cities, and the Frisian language favoured in the countryside. Many Frisian-speakers still live in the cities, though, 30% in Ljouwert bgl.
