Not only is my Eisenhower & the Holocaust book now available to order (via Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and my publisher DeGruyter etc), but Amazon currently has the Kindle version marked down to $20 — which is about $2 below the paperback cost!

“What won’t disappear from the townscape is Berlin as a post-World War II city.” It is and this is a marvelous line in a wonderful article. Berlin continues to fascinates me every time I visit and I know it does the same for my students.

The Wall has been down longer than it was up, yet Berlin remains marked by division. It's got at least two of everything: TV Towers, zoos, universities, operas. Will it always be defined by the 20th century?.ZEITGEIST asks: Berlin, why are you like this?.

81 years ago this stretch of the French coastline was a battleground. 81 years ago the liberation of France began here. This is Omaha beach and that day was “the day of days”: D-Day.
