2nd instance of a groom wearing bird feathers on a cap....a new Nepali tradition is being set for. Before it becomes a common tradition, we must discourage this new practice. Now bird feathers.. later other animal products? @DNPWC_Nepal should remain vigilant & proactive😎

Nepal's most important Ramsar site for bird populations, Jagadishpur Reservoir, has motorboat & other disturbances going on. How good it is to declare a site as a Bird Sanctuary, IBA and Ramsar Site and let the biological value be destroyed for recreational sports! @RamsarConv

These photos I took in Shuklaphanta National Park (c. 1996), the beginning of my PhD field years. This park was less known, a balanced ecosystem & full of surprises. One morning, I followed a call in distress & found a Chital grabbed by a python. The next day, it was all gone!

Wetlands provide habitat, filtering water, and protecting communities from floods and droughts. Yet, they are disappearing three times faster than forests! This #WorldWetlandsDay, let’s commit to restoring, conserving, and valuing these vital ecosystems. 🌎💙
