This just came through our door from Highbury Covid-19 Mutual Aid Group’s volunteers. They are still up to their wonderful work during Lockdown 2. Contact them if you could do with a helping hand during this difficult time. No-one round here should have to struggle through alone.

I hope that, despite differing views on how Islington’s People Friendly Streets programme will affect how we get around Highbury, we can all agree that, with death stalking our community in the guise of Covid-19, everyone should, for now, unless absolutely necessary, #StayAtHome.

Don’t forget the trial low traffic neighbourhood begins in Highbury from Monday. Details are available on the Council website - https://t.co/tvO7XJrLuS - do give your feedback, they’ve promised to listen and change/scrap the scheme if it doesn’t work.

Not only are local officers outstanding, we arrested a resident who has been wanted and outsnading since 2014. Great arrest by our newest HBW team officer.

Don’t forget- the Highbury Fields LTN goes live from Monday. Infrastructure now in place. Make a mental note, put a post-it in your car, whatever you need to do - it’s time to change the habits of decades for a safer, lower-traffic neighbourhood!

Highbury West's #LTN is covered in depth in @HighburyCA's latest newsletter. I agree with their conclusion: "the scheme as it currently exists should be piloted and monitored, and that feedback should regularly be given to the council about desirable modifications to the scheme".
