The left image is the digital output generated by the algorithm from a dataset of synthetic, AI-generated landscapes. The right image is the resulting oil painting, where the algorithmic composition is reinterpreted through a manual, material process (available on Manifold).

In these hand-painted works, I recover the digital residues from my reconfigured algorithmic landscapes, emerging from datasets of pre-photographic paintings and models like Midjourney that learned what a landscape is.
