Ok going to do a short rambly thread on collecting art. To preface, DeeZe is ๐ฏ right about the Tokenomics, especially if you're looking for liquidity o profit on a $10K art purchase within 1-3 years. My argument is that this is a terrible way of discussing art collecting.
Often see people talking about the thriving culture on Tezos and why more collectors should collect there.
While the art culture over there is great, the opportunity cost of using a base currency that raised way too much during the ICO days and has failed to deliver real valueโฆ

My hot take:
The sad underperformance of Tezos as a blockchain is a lowkey blessing for the artist community there. There's way fewer scams, fewer rugs, fewer hacks, fewer influencer marketing schemes, fewer fraudulent artists, fewer basic flippers, etc.
I love Tezos for their contribution to making art accessible the past few years. That being said, I donโt think the chain will be functioning in 2027.
