Canada’s Correctional Investigator Ivan Zinger released another report detailing the overincarceration of Indigenous Peoples in Canada’s prisons. As the situation gets worse, Zinger highlighted why that might be during a press conference on Tuesday.

@JustinTrudeau @PattyHajdu @OgichidaaKav Today a young First Nations man died in Onigaming. 911 was called. The ambulance parked at the edge of our reserve + wouldn't come help. As his family provided chest compressions, the paramedics let this young man die. This is racism.

A big day for mental health & for the Black community. The launching of a mental health crisis team that will respond without the police honours & respects the lives of Andrew Loku, Regis Korchinsky Paquet and the many others who lost their lives during a mental health crisis.
