we at least all knew what to expect ahead of time; players, coaches and supporters alike. VAR is/has dehumanised officials to the point they can’t be trusted with their own eyes and ears or have personalities, instead leaving most key decisions to lottery of interpretation 2/3

I miss the days of debating ‘dodgy’ decisions made by officials, post match with mates. We would just agree to disagree the result was what it was and we put it to bed. We recognised certain referees had a reputation/ certain traits. #VAR 1/2

VAR needs two new approaches if it’s to succeed. Refs mic’d up for us to hear dialogue and for players to be put on report in moments like instead, so time can be taken to review retrospectively, rather than in heat of the moment based on limited angles and seconds to decide. 3/3

I question whether they are prepared for all eventualities too. For instance, what if DCL goes on to score prior to a sending off?. Goal chalked off or still counts long after the challenge? It really is VARcical. 2/3
