The Yule goat is a mischievous creature in Scandinavian folklore, that was believed to roam around during the darkest time of the year. In the olden days, men dressed up as Yule goats would show up in Scandinavian homes at Yuletide and check if people had cleaned themselves

On this day in 1904, Santa Claus walked from Union Station to Eaton's in Toronto. This was the beginning of the Santa Claus Parade. The first official Toronto Santa Claus Parade happened the following year with one float. It is now the oldest Santa Claus Parade in the world.
