#WorldElephantDay in Scotland?. Sightings of the Loch Ness monster may have been circus elephants enjoying a swim, says Neil Clark of the Hunterian Museum. An elephant trunk and hump in the water bears similarities to some famous Nessie photographs. #FairytaleTuesday #Scotland

The Lion and the Unicorn are heraldic symbols of the United Kingdom - the lion, England; the unicorn, Scotland. In folklore however, the lion and the unicorn are (apparently) sworn enemies. #FolkloreSunday #WorldLionDay.art: Leslie Brooke

Crab apple is 'scribe-tree' in my native Ayrshire dialect. Our original apple, and sacred to the Druids: its flowers have five petals, a revered number; cut the apple in half to find a pentagram. #FolkloreSunday #Druids

Saturday's #fullmoon is the #LynxMoon . The word 'lynx' is derived from 'leuk' meaning light/ brightness; so the name of the moon does not necessarily reference the animal. Other names include Dispute Moon, Sturgeon Moon, Grain Moon and Corn Moon.
