Really cool stuff from my former institute! Congratulations, Brent. And what a wonderful reference to the Kumulipo.
Astronomers may have spotted the first single Baryon Acoustic Oscillation -- a sonic bubble created shortly after the Big Bang, now frozen into the structure of the universe. Astonishing work by @DanielPomarede, Brent Tully, and team. https://t.co/y4DiDduyP6

I wonder, why so many people completely ignore the possibility that Dark Matter is made of primordial black holes. Even if you do not believe in it, you should st least discuss it and say so!
We still don’t understand the nature of dark matter nearly a century after its discovery. For @NautilusMag, @PaulMattSutter writes about the current state of dark matter research — what we know, and what we don’t. https://t.co/FJp5XIwYIu

Keeping fingers crosswd for success tomorrow! Best of luck for @ESA_Euclid
A privilege to be here in Orlando with so many of the people who painstakingly designed & constructed the mission to deliver on its ambitious scientific goals- it’s been a long road but with any luck @ESA_Euclid will soon be well on its way !

Absolutely fascinating result on gravitational wave background from merging supermassive black holes. Congratulations to the international teams of scientists. This is one of the top research areas, which the new @astrozentrum will embark on! https://t.co/o4xbqFLbsr

... by the way: the perspective is a bit skewed. The actual size should be somewhere between a golf and a tennis ball. Viewed from several astronomical units, even of the vantage point of one of the gas or ice giant planets, would subtend an invisible angle!

... then we might one day detect it through gravitational lensing of a background star. Then we could localize it and some time way in the future fly there and look at it - maybe even extract energy from it?

I am missing XMM-Newton!
#JUICE was Ariane 5's last science mission launch. In its honor, we wanted to pay tribute to these legendary missions over the years. Can you find the names of all the passengers in this photo? #ArianeGroup #Ariane5 @ESA_JUICE @esa @NASA @CNES @EuropeSpacePort @Arianespace

Congratulations, Hilton, and thanks for many years of fruitful cooperation in Hawaii! Good luck for Rich Matsuda - an excellent choice.
“It has been the opportunity of a lifetime.” He’s been a part of W. M. Keck Observatory since our twin telescopes were just a concept on paper. After nearly 4 decades of service designing, building, operating, and leading the observatory, Director Hilton Lewis will be stepping

Our silver baby on the sky!
Spotted: @ESA_JUICE on it's way to Jupiter! I managed to capture a sequence of images of the JUICE spacecraft that launched today using our @PirateOU telescopes in Tenerife. @OU_SPS @OpenUniversity @esaoperations #JUICE #ESA #Telescopes
