We have seen time and time again how the public and donors will get behind expensive and flashy looking solutions that don’t stand up to scrutiny. Journalists must question why copy and paste press releases are being published without scrutiny or dissenting opinions represented?.

The pro-geoengineering crowd dominates the conversation, stifling discussion. I attended the EGU session in this report. It was not an open or inclusive debate or discussion, but a cult-like gathering.

This misrepresents the scientific consensus to the public. Scientists need to openly debate all opinions, even if they challenge consensus, but we can't be presenting one sided fringe discussion as fact to the public like this.
