I think that at the moment, struggling (and even feeling like you're drowning) is actually the sane response for anyone with a degree of empathy to what is happening in the world. It doesn't mean that you are less. It means that you are MORE, that you feel it. Keep going. <3

How abt local councils in middle-lower income suburbs plant70% native trees & 30%, fruit trees, so ppl can pick fresh fruit if they can't afford to buy. A no. of countries do this. Also dedicate more space 4more community gardens, & mandate such space for apartment planning

We’ve been taught that if you’re not working, you’re not trying. But that’s ideology — not truth. People are worthy because they are people. Not because they produce profit. Not because they perform hustle. Not because they “earn the right” to exist. https://t.co/w1gRh2neF9

The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism is neither a history of economics, nor a religious history. It borrows from both, but is stranger than either.

@ArtistAffame Economists generally regard around 5% as full employment as there needs to be some play to allow for fluctuations. The fact we need this reserve work force means we should stop punishing people for being unemployed. It's how the system works. Make Jobseeker livable.

@Julieoz836 @BarbaraPocock @MelisaB39884862 @AlboMP @JEChalmers @SenKatyG @ALeighMP @ClareONeilMP "Affordable housing" is the free market thing. What we really need is massive reinvestment in "public housing," the 1950s model, ie homes the government owns and rents to people in need. It was doable back when we had a smaller population. It should be even easier nowadays.

@ArtistAffame 110%! If there's always meant to be a % unemployed then there should be a rate that keeps them above water so politicians, the RBA & media can play their monetary games without using social murder as a means
