Today and every day: -Your purpose is greater than your challenges. -Your positivity is greater than negativity. -Your vision is greater than your circumstance. -Your love is greater than fear.

There are so many things that are out of our control under normal circumstances. But now, in a pandemic, those feelings can be overwhelming. Focus your energy on things that you can control. And try to let go of the things you can’t. Start where you are. Do the best you can.

https://t.co/D1mKnSrNTk Next fall you may be tempted to test students immediately, identify academic “deficits,”and reteach or remediate. Research shows, both are ineffective, resulting in student disengagement & greater inequities in instruction & opportunities. @KSDEredesign

Can't wait for this!!!📚❤
If the first book in my Geeger the Robot series, GEEGER THE ROBOT GOES TO SCHOOL, has a theme, it's that school is a safe place to take risks, to try and fail and try again, and that this process is synonymous with LEARNING. I even tried to subtly work this into my chapter titles

With the possibility of continued blended learning for the next school year, I curated information about different sets of virtual manipulatives along with presentations and articles to support the use of them. New blog post: https://t.co/zIe0LkMPUt…

#ThoughtForTheDay Don’t kid yourself. Who you spend most of your time with matters. In fact, it matters a lot. Surround yourself with those who challenge you & remind you through their actions what love, joy, patience, compassion & forgiveness looks like. #LiveYourExcellence

I’m currently reading Leadershift by John Maxwell. I really liked this contrast between a goal-oriented culture vs a growth-oriented culture. I wonder if kids and teachers in our school would identify more with the left or the right?

Growth mindset cant work until we focus on S's strengths. When we focus on S's weaknesses they are discouraged & hopeless. But if we focus on their strengths it allows them to experience success. Success builds confidence. Then they will try new or harder things. Growth Mindset!
