Recommendations:.➡️Address challenges in qualifications recognition.➡️Encourage policy alignment with EU sustainability & production standards.➡️Promote private sector investment.➡️Use Talent Partnerships to support skills development for the agri-food sector. and more!.

Challenges include: .➡️Limited alignment on sustainability and production standards, .➡️Difficulties aligning skills mobility with employers’ needs versus development goals.➡️Brain drain.➡️'Green' skills recognition & transferability .➡️Funding (in)stability.

Skills development and mobility of non-EU nationals represent an important piece of how the EU and partner countries can undertake the green agri-food transition. What issues must be addressed to use Talent Partnerships & other skills mobility models to that end?.

At the same time, there is an acute awareness around the importance of meeting skills & labor shortages, as reflected across several Commissioner portfolios. This is to address demographic change & imperatives linked to competitiveness, a major EU preoccupation in the new cycle.

As the new Commission takes up its work, the future of the #GreenDeal & the contested Farm to Fork Strategy remain uncertain amid political backlash & competing priorities. Still, support in adapting to the impacts of climate change remains crucial amid growing food insecurity.
