Summertime is travelling time - and in autumn we will progressively role out the new Entry-Exit system. It is a key part of improving how we manage our external borders and will help us track who is entering and leaving the EU. It will also lead to changes at the borders.

The Entry/Exit System is a key part of improving how we manage our external borders. It will help us track who is entering and leaving the EU. This will strengthen security in the Schengen Area by helping us identify overstayers, prevent irregular movements, and reduce document.

Today we are on the Zugspitze to discuss European migration policy and the fight against irregular migration. At the center of our discussions is the reform of the European migration system. One thing is clear: migration can only be managed effectively at the European level.
