Yesterday we bid farewell to our XO, Lt Cdr Kilbride RN as he addressed the Ship��s Company before granting leave for Easter. His final act as XO was to rate ET(ME) Farrell from ETME2 to ETME1 and CS Ferguson to LCS. Good luck Sir on your next adventure in @HMSTrent ⚓️

And last but certainly not least, #HMSPortland Sailor of the Year award was presented to ETME Merson. A selfless and highly driven individual, he goes above and beyond daily which extends in to his home life, where he plays an active role assisting with his local cadet unit.

#HMSPortland Sailor of the Term was awarded to the Logistics Department’s POCS Brown. Showing unwavering commitment to both the Galley and the Ship’s CBRNDC organisation, POCS Brown embodies the wholeship ethos and is a role model to those around her.

Unfortunately dressed, having been taking part in Christmas dinner preps, the Physical Development Sailor of the Term award went to Lt De La Mare for his dedication to ship phys. Lt De La Mare has set a golden standard that is inspiring and beyond reproach.

PO(CIS) Hopson took home the Weapons’ Engineering Department Sailor of the Term award for maintaining the Main Communications Office during a personnel shortage while simultaneously training his subordinates with no detriment to output.

For the Warfare Department, PO(UW) Hayes was awarded their departmental Sailor of the Term for his sterling CBRNDC efforts, a job which should belong to a Chief.

LCS Perkins was awarded the Logistics Department Sailor of the Term for his dedication to his shipmates. With a selfless attitude, LCS Perkins takes a wholeship approach to all aspects of his job, often extending beyond the realms of the Galley.

Next up was the Marine Engineering Department Sailor of the Term, awarded to LAPO(ETME) Thomas for his exceptional effort whilst deployed maintaining PTLD’s auxiliary equipment.
