Recently, prisoners took part in a walk around the prison’s astroturf pitch to show their support for #Ukraine and to raise money for the appeal. So far they have raised over £340 with more still being raised. #SercoAndProud

HMP Ashfield is proud to recognise #NoSmokingDay. Four years ago, all @SercoGroup prisons became smoke free sites for prisoners, staff and visitors in an effort to promote better health and cut down on the harm caused by first and second-hand smoking.

At HMP Ashfield every prisoner has a key worker. They are experienced prisoner custody officers who are assigned to help prisoners keep safe and support their rehabilitation through regular face-to-face meetings and check-ins #SercoAndProud

Together with several visiting chaplains, our chaplaincy team supports 19 different religious and non-religious denominations and groups. We’re proud that we can help tend to the needs of prisoners with a diverse range of beliefs through challenging times in their lives.

At HMP Ashfield we donated over £140 to the charity, Somerset & Avon Rape & Sexual Abuse Support (@SARSAS_uk). The money raised will help SARSAS provide more support to people who have experienced sexual violence at any time in their lives. #SercoAndProud

Here's a bit of history of HMP Ashfield. The prison was built on the site of the Pucklechurch Remand Centre in 1999. It became a Young Offender’s Institute (YOI) in 2005. In 2013, it changed again to its current role as a category C prison for men convicted of sexual offending.

Today is #NationalLibrariesDay in the UK and at HMP Ashfield we are proud of the valuable service our library provides for prisoners. Did you know that we have over 4,000 books in our library for prisoners to choose? #SercoAndProud
