The Anthony Nolan Research Institutes plays a vital role to understand how we can improve transplants. This funding means we can nurture & develop our early-stage career scientists whose work will enable more patients to survive and thrive. #IgniteResearch @GeorgeFreemanMP

We are deeply saddened to hear that Her Majesty the Queen has passed away. We offer our condolences to the Royal family at this devastating time.
The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.

This is brilliant news and I’m so pleased that @AnthonyNolan early career researchers will be funded to improve patient outcomes Huge thanks to @AMRC @The_MRC @beisgovuk @GeorgeFreemanMP and to @NeemaMayor @HLAB8 and Diana for putting the bid in.
This week, following a long campaign by our team and charities, 80 members have had the good news that the Medical Research Charities COVID Support Fund for Early-Career Researchers will provide funding for 450 researchers for one year: https://t.co/ssSolglACn 1 of 2🧵

I was saddened to hear today of the passing of Prof Erik Thorsby, who together with Flemming Kissmeyer discovered HLA-C in 1970. Erik was a Councillor for the International HLA & Immunogenetics Workshop and President of EFI 2002 - 2004 @EFI_Office.
