- In a true lung point, normal lung should slide over and "erase" an A-line profile (reverberation artifact). In this case, the tissue "erased" by the normal lung is not an A-line profile. - CT is the gold-standard for diagnosing PTX and is very sensitive, so not likely here.

- This clip likely represents lung sliding over tissue of the mediastinum or diaphragm.- Lung point performs very well for identifying PTX, but case reports exist showing false positives, which include interface of mediastinum/diaphragm, blebs/bullae, mainstem intubation….

Follow up CT shower right posterior rib fractures 7-11 with no PTX. So did we see a PTX on ultrasound?.

Questions: Is this a transition point between lung and PTX?

This weeks case: how much can a long point tell you?? . Case: 75M presents as a L3T after 5-7 foot fall from a ladder. Initial vitals are stable, patient is complaining of right sided rib pain. Primary survey is notable for decreased breath sounds on the right.
