Anyone can say “I’ve spoken with…” Not much more than he said/she said. Love to chat with you next time you’re around talking up our students/parents. You are more than welcome to sit in on one of my classes @CovenantCollege. Think you’ll find it far from academically mediocre.
@Danielfwells @CovenantCollege I’ve spoken with multiple parents/students disappointed with the experience at Covenant. Politics is a factor, but academic mediocrity was the biggest theme (I see these as related).

Since PhD applications are in and interview invites will go out for a lot of programs across the country, let me give you some advice: if you hear someone say "only do this if you cannot imagine yourself doing anything else" and you cannot imagine yourself doing anything else,.

In light of conversations I’ve had recently and dialogues I’ve observed—certainly w/r/t this election but also more broadly—I only have one thing to add about my own tribe…. Protestants suffer from an extremely impoverished understanding of virtue… . And also grace.
